In most cases, yes. Period-appropriate fabrics, leathers, braids, studs and trims are widely available, and at Signature Upholstery will help you select materials that suit the age and style of the piece, whether that's a Victorian wingback, a Chesterfield, an Edwardian settee or a Georgian chair.

Usually, yes. Antique frames often need re-gluing, joinery repair or spring re-tying before new upholstery goes on, and the underlying structure is normally assessed and repaired as part of the restoration. Traditional materials like horsehair, coir and hessian are used where they suit the piece.

Yes. Where a piece was originally built with horsehair, coir, hessian and hand-stitched edges, those same materials and techniques are used to keep the character of the piece intact. Modern foams and synthetic waddings are only introduced where they suit the design, or where the original filling is beyond reuse.
